And just like that, The Leftovers have been thrown out with the trash. The dominant “Big Brother” alliance made it to the halfway point of the game, but new Head of Household Matthew “Turner” Turner decided to use his reign to draw a line between his Pound group (Turner, Kyle Capener and Monte Taylor) and the other three (Brittany Hoopes, Taylor Hale and Michael Bruner). After putting Brittany and Taylor on the block, Turner hinted that his real target this week might be Michael, but of course, it all would depend on who won the impending Veto competition.

Below, read our minute-by-minute “Big Brother” recap of Season 24, Episode 23 to find out what happened Wednesday, August 31 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT. 8:00 p.m. – “Previously on ‘Big Brother’!” In the 22nd episode, the Dyre Fest outdoor group and the Big Brochella indoor group met up to compare stories of what happened over the past week. The four remaining from outside now call themselves the After Party and they want to work together to get rid of the larger Leftovers alliance. After Turner won the miniature HOH comp, he stayed loyal to the After Party and the Pound and put Brittany and Taylor on the block. Will the Veto save either of them tonight? Let’s go!

8:05 p.m. — Turner admits his nominations speech was “mostly a lie” because Joseph told him that Michael was also in the Final 4 deal along with Brittany and Taylor. The girls are crying their eyes out, with Taylor feeling “hurt” and “stupid.” Monte says that seeing Taylor cry confirms the Joseph story is true. Kyle feels secure in the game now because of his two alliances and claims, “Dyre Fest saved my game.”

8:07 p.m. — In the HOH room, Brittany swears on her life that she never talked to Joseph about a Final 3 deal. Turner tells her that she’s not his target at all. Later, Taylor is up in the HOH room and Turner swears on his life that he’s telling the truth about Joseph telling him about the deal. Turner tells the camera that none of this really matters because Michael is his backdoor plan.

8:09 p.m. — In the Have-Not room, Turner apologizes to Michael for putting his friends on the block. Michael says it’s not the end of his game if one of the girls goes home this week. Michael appreciates not being nominated. Turner lies and says he had no thoughts of putting him on the block ever, but Michael isn’t buying it. “I have a bad feeling this week,” he admits.

8:11 p.m. — The Pound plus Alyssa meet in the HOH room. Kyle tells Monte that Alyssa and Terrance know “everything” about the Leftovers because he told them outside, and Monte’s mouth shoots open in shock. Monte is furious and hints that he can no longer trust Kyle going forward since he previously blamed Joseph for spilling the beans.

8:13 p.m. — Monte and Taylor talk about how it’s “too easy” for the Dyre Fest survivors to be blaming Joseph since he’s not there to defend himself. If Taylor pulls the Houseguest’s Choice chip and picks Monte and he wins the Veto, he confirms he will “100%” use it to take her off the block.

8:17 p.m. — Kyle and Michael chat privately and Michael asks about his options going forward. The convo makes Michael “suspicious” of Kyle because of the way he’s been acting since returning from Dyre Fest.

8:18 p.m. — Michael and Brittany are working out scenarios in the work-out room. They bring up how Kyle was worried about a Cookout-style alliance of minorities forming in the house. “What do we have to lose” about revealing the information, he wonders aloud. Michael hopes he gets picked for the Veto so he can shake up the week.

8:20 p.m. — Turner really, really doesn’t want Michael to get picked for the Veto because he has already won four of these things. The Veto drawing ceremony begins. Turner picks Alyssa, Taylor picks Monte and Brittany picks … Michael! Turner calls it “worst case scenario” lol.

8:24 p.m. — There’s a “big cinematic surprise” for the houseguests, with Luke Macfarlane and Billy Eichner promoting their new gay rom-com called “Bros.” The winner of the Veto will get to watch an advance screening of the movie and ask three people to join them. Fun!

8:26 p.m. — The Veto competition begins and it’s the classic slip ‘n slide challenge. There are movie posters everywhere, plus popcorn and a soda machine. The six players have to transport rose wine from one side of the backyard to the other while walking over a slippery runway. Whoever fills up their receptacle first will win, and there’s also a second canister that contains a much larger scooper if anyone wants to take that risk.

8:28 p.m. — The houseguests are slipping and sliding all over the backyard. Michael determines that it’ll be a waste of time to go for the larger scooper after measuring them. Turner has a different strategy and goes after the larger scooper. Brittany would love to win, but the best case scenario would be if Michael wins and takes her down. Taylor has the same thought, only with Monte instead of Michael.

8:30 p.m. — Michael is off to an early lead, with Monte joking how the Olympics should be calling him. Alyssa feels like a baby giraffe learning to walk, as she falls over and over again. We then get a montage of everyone falling down.

8:32 p.m. — Turner earns the jumbo wine tumbler by filling his smaller receptacle. Then, the lead Michael had all but vanishes as Turner delivers more and more rose into his container. But eventually, Michael pulls out the victory. That’s his fifth Veto win this season! Turner is bummed because now he has to put up someone else he’s working with. He’s leaning toward Monte.

8:37 p.m. — Michael gets to pick three houseguests to join him for the “Bros” screening and he picks Turner, Alyssa and Taylor. The picks are both strategic and personal, he confirms. Michael wants to earn some goodwill with Turner and Alyssa, and Taylor has had a rough week. They all eat popcorn on the HOH bed and watch the movie, as we see brief clips. Michael calls “Bros” “authentic” to gay relationships.

8:41 p.m. — Brittany and Michael wonder if Turner will put up Monte as a backdoor now that Michael has won the Veto. They are considering throwing Kyle under the bus about his prior Cookout speculations in the hopes of keeping all four Big Brochella people safe. Ooo, this should be good.

8:45 p.m. — Michael gathers Monte and Taylor in the Have-Not room and tells them about the Kyle information, with Brittany present as well. We see a clip of Kyle asking Brittany and Michael about becoming an alliance with Alyssa and Turner to go up against a possible alliance of minorities. “It goes beyond game,” Brittany says about the speculation. Taylor is “shaking” at hearing it. Monte says it’s one of the last things he wanted to hear. Michael wonders if they should go to Turner with the details. The scene ends with Taylor’s remark that if there’s anyone who can act on the information, it’s Michael and Brittany.

8:53 p.m. — Now Michael and Brittany are having a meeting with Alyssa where they let her know about her showmance partner seeing “divisions” happen in the house. She is “confused” and “extremely overwhelmed” about hearing all the stuff about Kyle. Alyssa appreciates hearing it and says she would never be a part of a group based on race.

8:55 p.m. — Michael is in the HOH room and tells Turner all the info. Turner is “glad” he’s learned this but doesn’t know what to do with it.

8:56 p.m. — Monte updates Terrance on the news. Terrance jokingly wonders how he’s working with the Black people when he gets nominated every week.

8:57 p.m. — Turner “hates” that his name was brought up as a potential member of an all-white alliance. Kyle feels “alone” so he talks to Alyssa. Kyle tells her that this is “life-changing” and that it could ruin his life. He says it’s “not true at all.”

8:58 p.m. — Kyle comes to the HOH room but Turner wants to finish his conversation with Brittany and Michael first. Michael feels like a weight has been lifted off his chest. Turner is now considering putting Kyle on the block. The episode ends with Kyle in the Diary Room saying “the hint of race” being a factor would never cross his mind. He breaks down in tears.
